Lightweight Windows tray monitoring for disk temperatures, using smartctl and a color-changing icon that shows the current temperature range immediately without opening a window.
HardDiskTemp, also commonly searched as Hard Disk Temp, Hard Disk Temperature and HardDisk Temp, is a lightweight disk-temperature monitor designed to remain available in the Windows notification area. It reads available drive temperature information through smartctl and presents the current condition directly through the tray icon.
The utility remains in the Windows notification area so the current disk-temperature condition can be checked without opening a separate application window.
The tray icon is blue below 50°C, green from 50–64°C, orange from 65–74°C and red at 75°C or above, making the temperature range visible at a glance.
HardDiskTemp focuses on direct temperature monitoring and avoids unnecessary windows or background complexity while using smartctl to obtain available drive information.
The utility can monitor supported hard disks, solid-state drives and NVMe devices when the drive and its interface expose compatible SMART or temperature data.
The installer is distributed through the official HardDiskTemp GitHub Releases repository. The latest-download address resolves to the current public installer named HardDiskTemp_Setup.exe.
HardDiskTemp – Hard Disk Temp is presented through F.I.C. Windows Utilities by G.V. Raftogiannis FIC (George/Georgios Raftogiannis). This is the dedicated official product address for the Windows disk-temperature tray utility.
